About the position

  • Assist with the development and completion of financial activities such as budgets, budget reviews, financial statements, audits, month end processes, treasury functions and the implementation of system process improvements.
  • Effectively manage workloads to ensure that required deadlines are met and outcomes are achieved in a professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and accounting standards.
  • Apply creativity and problem-solving techniques to process and system errors including identifying, testing and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Complete month end activities including processing journals and accruals and finalise and distribute management reporting.
  • Assist with tax submissions such Business Activity Statements and with audits and the development of financial statements and complete reconciliations.
  • Work as a member of the broader Finance team to manage workloads and priorities across each accounting stream.
  • Provide high level financial customer service and advice to internal and external clients including support regarding management accounting applications.
  • Assist with the development of fees and charges, project and work order structures.
  • All other duties commensurate with this level.

Who we are looking for

  • Financial/ Business / Commerce qualification (highly desirable), alternatively, significant financial experience is required.
  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or eligibility (desirable)
