About the position

  • Operate and maintain assigned truck and/or plant, in a responsible, safe, efficient and cost-effective
    manner.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs of allocated plant and log defect reports as applicable.
  • Conduct burial and cemetery operations.
  • Carry out labouring duties to assist the Parks and Gardens team in a competent, capable, safe and
    efficient manner.
  • Maintain open space assets, including application of pesticides, litter control, pressure cleaning
    arboreal works, garden maintenance, mulching and civil works.
  • Assist and undertake landscape construction of parks, gardens and playgrounds as required.
  • Work cooperatively and support team mates to achieve the Work Group’s goals.
  • Supervision of volunteers.
  • Comply with instructions given by supervisors, including other responsibilities as reasonably expected.

Who we are looking for

  1. Strong work ethic and an ability to contribute and work within a team environment.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with team members and supervisors
  3. Physical ability and experience in the safe and efficient operation, servicing and maintenance of relevant
    commercial plant and equipment, and in conducting parks and gardens labouring activities.
  4. Awareness of safe work practices including manual handling techniques and an ability to follow Workplace Health and Safety procedures and policies.
