Asset Management Officer – Road Services

About the position

– Assist in the development, implementation and review of innovative policies, strategies, plans, procedures and systems as it relates to TRC’s infrastructure assets.
– Develop, implement, monitor and review TRC’s infrastructure asset management systems.
– Coordinate, participate in and assist in development of asset inspections for data analysis of improved strategic asset management.
– Coordinate, develop and motivate Coordinators and Supervisors in delivering TRC’s asset management objectives.
– Analyse asset data and make recommendations to Managers and General Managers with regards to the development of maintenance and capital works programs including trend analysis and rectification actions.
– Assist in the financial modelling of TRC’s forward works capital and operational program, operational plans and asset management plans, utilising the asset management system software to determine the most efficient and economical use and maintenance of TRC’s infrastructure transport assets.
– Lead the relevant section in the implementation of TRC’s project decision and project management framework.
– Assist in the revaluations of TRC’s transport infrastructure assets as required by adopted policies, strategies and plans.
– Deliver training to field officers to ensure that asset data is captured and recorded as expected in the asset management system to ensure that planned maintenance, and capital works are carried out.
– Report on TRC infrastructure to respective external government agencies.
– Interpret new legislation relating to area of responsibility and if necessary, inform council and all senior staff.
– Prepare reports to council and report to senior staff of all matters relating to areas of responsibility.
– Maintain accurate asset data to assist in program and project development.
– Provide whole of life costing reports to inform budget development and long-term strategic asset management plan reviews
– Liaise with the relevant officers to ensure the Asset Management System operates in conjunction with TRC’s Internal departments.

1. High level time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and achieve organisational goals and objectives.
2. Proven ability in negotiation, communication and problem solving in dealing with all stakeholders in a Local Government environment.
3. Built/natural civil infrastructure maintenance and project management experience.
4. Highly developed relationship management skills, including the ability to interact with, and gain cooperation from, internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
5. Experience in extracting and analysing data from a variety of databases.
6. High level of proficiency in using Microsoft and other business management applications.
