CGC Scholarship Program 2026

Civil Geotechnical Consultants (CGC) is continuing its investment in regional students with $5,000 scholarships. These scholarships support regional students who demonstrate resilience, determination, and commitment in their studies.

  • Applications open: Friday, 1 May 2026
  • Applications close: Thursday midnight, 4 June 2026

 

About the CGC Scholarships

The CGC Scholarship Program will award $5,000 to two recipients currently studying and continuing their undergraduate or postgraduate degree in 2026:

  • 1 x $5,000 for a student registered with the Tablelands University Centre
  • 1 x $5,000 for a student registered with the Cassowary Coast University Centre

Payment: Scholarships will be paid in two instalments:

  1. $2,500 by 30 June 2026
  2. $2,500 by 30 September 2026 (contingent on continuing eligibility)

These scholarships aim to invest in the potential of regional and rural students, helping them pursue higher education while overcoming challenges.

 

Who Can Apply

The CGC Scholarship Program is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a registered student at the Tablelands or Cassowary Coast University Centre
  • Reside in the Tablelands, Cassowary Coast, or Mareeba area
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in 2026

Applicants must also meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • First in your family to attend university
  • Demonstrated commitment to study despite challenges (work, family, health, or education disruption)
  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Demonstrated leadership, contribution, or initiative in the community
  • Entered university via a non‑traditional pathway (e.g., mature‑age, vocational entry, or other non‑standard routes)

If you meet more than one criteria, you may choose up to two criteria to respond to in your application that best reflects you and your experience.

 

How to Apply

Applications open Friday 1 May 2026 and close Thursday midnight 4 June 2026. Completed applications must be submitted via email by the closing date.

You can apply in one of two ways:
• Submit a written application,

OR

• Submit a video application responding to the selection criteria

Note: If submitting a video application, please upload your video to a secure platform (e.g. YouTube or Dropbox) and include the link in your email submission. We are unable to accept video files sent as email attachments.

 

Steps to Apply: 

  1. Download and complete the Application Form here (or use it as a guide for your video responses).
  2. Gather supporting documentation: 
  • Confirmation of Enrolment from Your Education Provider
  • Proof of Current Residential Address. This could include a phone or bank letter, or any official document confirming your current residential address
  1. Submit your application (written or video) and supporting documentation via email to: tuc@vpginc.com.au

Note: Incomplete applications or those received after the specified deadline will not be considered.

 

Applied in Round 1?

We strongly encourage you to apply again. Round 1 was highly competitive with some very close decisions.
