About the position

  • Assist with the development and implementation of TRC’s Information Management Framework across council.
  • Deliver TRC’s records disposal program in accordance with legislation and TRC’s Records Disposal Policy.
  • Lead the capture and securing of corporate information within TRC’s business systems adhering to record keeping standards, acts, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of TRC’s Information Management training program covering RTI/IP applications, Queensland Privacy Principles and Mandatory Notification Data Breach requirements.
  • Keep abreast of changes to legislative updates to the Right to Information Act 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009 and ensure the information is disseminated to relevant resources across council.
  • Provide timely and accurate research and coordination in the processing of RTI and IP applications independently assessing, applying exemptions and preparing decision notices in accordance with council’s legislative obligations.
  • Lead third party consultations and manage complex, sensitive or multi-stakeholder RTI and IP matters.
  • Assist with Privacy complaints and Mandatory Notification Data Breach requirements.
  • Assist with the delivery of Records and Information Management projects.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Industry experience in Information Privacy management and associated system with knowledge of the relevant acts and legislation.
  2. Ability to work in autonomous and team environments constructively contributing to organisational objectives.
  3. Ability with exercising confidentiality, discretion, sensitivity, judgement and logical thinking.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-manage priorities, meet deadlines and exercise initiative.
  5. Demonstrated excellent customer focused communication skills and the ability to produce concise written reports, training material and undertake engagement with stakeholders.
