About the position
- Ensure operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities comply with legislation and are delivered within required time frames (including timesheet entry, salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, new hires, terminations, annual increments, annual increases, reporting and other matters).
- Provide a responsive, accurate advisory and education service regarding payroll matters.
- Liaise with customers to resolve complex enquiries and implement corrective actions to ensure employee payments are processed accurately.
- Prepare accurate, high quality, complex calculations, and analytical reports to support effective decision making.
- Ensure effective quality control, risk management and data integrity is maintained through conducting regular data analysis and audits, including participation in external audits.
- Work in partnership with the Systems & Information team to ensure the integrity of the TechOne payroll system, including identification and resolution of configuration issues, system upgrades, ensuring the full functionality of the TechOne payroll system.
- Work collaboratively and provide coaching to the Payroll Officer to achieve required outcomes, including monitoring payroll workflows and workload, and ensuring consistent and accurate application of relevant legislation and other requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of Awards, Regulations, Acts, Superannuation and other relevant legislative changes and advice where applicable.
- Review, develop and implement Payroll related projects as required.
- Coordination of payroll financial activities such as budgets and financial year requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Provide and promote service excellence and foster effective teamwork and business relationships.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstate:
- Strong knowledge in the provision of accurate service and advice regarding payroll
matters to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, policies, and procedures. - Experience in effectively coordinating all aspects of payroll processing.
- High level knowledge and experience in operation of TechOne, or a similar payroll system.
- Ability to provide a customer focussed payroll service and maintain confidentiality.
- High level interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Time management and prioritisation skills.
